Doesn’t snag the carpet.

I got the Staples Medium Pile Chair May because I just got new carpeting and didn’t want it snagged by the mat. Unlike the low pile mats this one doesn’t have sharp points but rounded nubs. It holds onto the carpet just as well but doesn’t pull threads. It’s a little narrower than I needed (I roll around a bit when I’m working) but I didn’t have room for the next size up.

After reading the reviews that described issues with chair wheels denting and digging into the mat I decided that it was worth a shot given the low price. I don't think the mat will last that long because it definitely dents but it still might have been a reasonable value.

This chair mat should definitely used with a low pile carpet. I thought that described our’s but it does eventually ‘creep’ out into it’s spot under the desk in the home office. It’s liveable though since I don’t go in there every day. It’s still workable for what we intended. Paying attention to that detail it’s still a good value for the cost.
