So far so good. No signs of cracking or splitting. My stepson spends many waking hours in that chair at his computer. Other mats have cracked within several weeks. I'm hoping this is the one we needed all along.

Have this primarily over an area rug that goes up to my desk and then the flap part extends under my desk which is the hardwood floor that runs throughout the whole room. My chair previously would catch on the lip where the rug met the wood floor so now that issue is solved. It worked perfectly and is a very sturdy mat.
