The mat is a pliable plastic which gets easily indented does not stayin one place andthe edges curl up. After about 9 months of frustration I tossed it in the trash. I am sure Staples would have refunded the purchase price if I had asked but lifes gets in the way. Usually things from Staples are of a better quality.
This is a soft plastic chair mat that when the chair sits in one position it causes dents. Overall it's overpriced for what you get. I would not recommend. This needs to be built thicker and stronger for the money.
I guess this mat does it job protecting the carpet but I'd rather go without the mat. I have a u-shaped desk and roll from place to place alot. I can feel the "nubs" on the bottom side of the mat when I roll so it's pretty bumpy. Also I just got this mat and the wheels on my chair have already made permanent indentations in it. They cause me to get stuck when I'm trying to roll. I wouldn't recommend this mat.
