The price was right but perhaps that was because the construction is a bit lacking. i have a low pile carpet but even at that the wheels of my chair make large indentations when i sit making it difficult to slide on the mat. Also because it has no gripping surface on one side it tends to move.
This mat is much thicker than my previous mat. Should hold up much longer. I was concerned about the "lip" but it is not as pronounced as I had expected. I like the extrusions on the bottom which hold the mat in place; they are less sharp than my old mat. My chair rolls well on the mat. I am very satisfied.
The mat is fine. However I ordered on Friday the salesman said it would be delivered to my home on Monday. At 5:33 on Monday I had a phone call that said "sorry for the delay it would be delivered on Tuesday". At the end of the day on Tuesday I got a phone call to say "sorry for the delay it would be delivered on Wednesday" It was finally delivered on Wednesday.
As far as I'm concerned I would've been better off putting my chair straight onto the carpet. I have very shallow carpeting with almost no padding underneath and yet my chair STILL puts ruts in the mat and the carpet underneath. Worth noting that my chair has SIX rolling feet so my weight (160lbs) is definitely well distributed. It's nearly impossible to move the chair a little bit and have it stay in place without having it uncomfortably pull back towards the ruts. Also the gripping spikes are pathetic little nubs that do NOTHING the mat itself moves forward slightly every time I sit down and push my chair forward. Once the mat moves forward enough that the chair falls off it (Which takes only about 3 times of standing up and sitting back down) it's impossible to get the chair back on the mat without pushing the chair back and lifting it to get it back over the lip. I constantly find myself pulling the mat back where it's supposed to be. Plus the darn sticker they put on it was a pain to take off and took a few minutes of scraping to get all the residue off. Don't waste your money on any of Staples' garbage mats when you can spend half the price for a much higher quality mat at another office supply store. Long story short this mat went straight into the garbage.
