I bought one 12 years ago that was of the same thickness. It started cracking about 2 years ago. finally had to replace it. I spend about 4 hrs. in the computer room a day. My advice is use some leather gloves to handle it. the studs are unforgiving.

A perfect example of you get what you pay for this mat is of adequate thickness but I expect it to crack with 2-3 years. Spikes are very sharp would only recommend for use on carpet. Also the dimensions are smaller than other mats. Its okay for my home office but just barely.

Not quite made for plush carpet.

This mat was advertised as for plush carpet but it is not. Even with the carpet grabbers on the bottom the construction is too thin.

You really need a mors substantial mat unless the weight of chair and person is on the low side.
