Works for what I wanted

We purchased this for my mom to use after she broke her left leg in two places. She was unable to put any weight on it. My mom is 92 and in terrific shape! The chair mat is used on the carpet next to her electric Lazy Boy. It makes it easier for her to maneuver herself from the chair to the transport / wheel chair by scooting her right foot on the mat vs the carpet. The mat lies flat. The only problem is the slight odor of the plastic. We have one along side her bed and when I walk in the room I can smell it. I let it air out on the outside deck and it seems to be much better. Thanks for a great product!

Absolute garbage

Complete piece of garbage unless used on a hard floor...do not use on carpet...will split after a short time and immediately caves in and dents.

Works well on thicker carpet

I have my office in my home and have thicker pile carpet in my office. I purchased this chair mat hoping it would work well with the thicker carpet. With my chair I'm putting about 200 lbs onto the mat and the wheels of my chair only sink in about 1/4". Don't know how long it will hold up but so far so good.

so far I have been pleased with my chair mat. no cracking and my chair glides very well. most I have purchased in the past have started cracking within a month of use but not this one. I would recommend.

My Very Own Chair Mat

As a school teacher I am always looking to make my classroom more inviting for my students. The day I bought the chair mat was the day I decided to do something for "me". The color I chose (clear) will go with any classroom decorations that I might come up with. The price along with a coupon made it very affordable. Even though school has not quite started I already have the chair mat in my room! It has been tested to see if it is going to live up to my expectations. Well I have to say it does. The teacher chair actually felt more comfortable when on the mat. I now smile every time I roll instead of "scoot" from one area of my work to the other.

Improved Chair Mat a Winner

I have an office at home in my bedroom. This is a carpeted space with relatively deep pile carpeting. When I began my business 3 years ago I purchased the cheapest chair mat I could buy at Staples to protect the carpet from the wheels of my office chair. The mat worked okay. It didn't quite fit underneath my desk...it was too wide...so I had to reposition my heavy desk on top of the mat to fit. A bit of a pain. Also the edges behind my chair had a bit of a curl to them so that if I rolled too far backward the mat would catch on my wheels. These edges would also be tripped on if you walked past my desk the wrong way. After 3 years the mat began to crack pretty badly and I knew it would need replacing This spring we had to remove all the furniture from the room to get new carpeting installed. This was the time to get that new mat! In the Staples store they have a hanging display by the chairs where you can check out the mats. I was going for cheapest as my little business needs to remain profitable! I chose this one the Flat Pile Carpet Chair Mat. I thought it looked about the same as the one I was replacing. Was I wrong! This new improved mat is so much better than my old one! 1) The shape of the mat is different so that it fits better under my desk. I didn't have to manipulate my heavy desk to get the mat to fit...it fit perfectly! 2) The plastic material of this newer mat doesn't have the 'curl' problems of the old mat. The mat lies flush against my carpet without any edges for my chair or someone's foot to catch on 3) Overall look is sleeker and more modern than the old. Although I've only had this mat for about week it is doing the job so much better than my old one. The cost was a bargain. Thanks Staples!
