This mat is adequate, but not as thick as the one it replaced...that's on me. I thought the only difference between mats was what surface they were used on. Does protect the carpet, but due to the thin material, desk chair doesn't roll very easily as the mat sinks into the carpet.

This may work on a low pile carpet or a hardwood floor, but not on thick carpet. It slides around.

This looks great upon receiving but after it was on the floor a couple of weeks we see the chair wheel indentions, and have to nudge harder to move the chair around the floor. Not very happy with this purchase.

My carpet is on thicker side and I wanted the chair not to sink through the mat, this item works great. I notice that over time, these tend to crack, so I am hoping this brand does not do that.
