I have a thick carpet at my new house and a thin plastic base wouldn't work properly. This pad is thick enought for my thick carpet at the best price I could find.

This chair mat is exactly what I was looking for. No lip/hard sturdy plastic with a beveled edge.

The chair rolls smoothly.

We recently installed new carpet with thicker pile. The chair at our home computer station was diffical to roll into position. This chair mat solved th problem very nicly. The mat came rolled in a very large box. If you plan on picking it up at the store do not try it with a small car. When we got it home we unrolled it and let it lie flat for a few hours. Once it reached room temperiature we positioned it and it does what we expected. The chair moves smoothly. No dropoffs at the edges and the new carpet showas through. I woulf deffinately recommend this carpet chair mat. We are very satisified.
