We have new hardwood floors and were told that constant movement of our desk chair would eventually show wear on the floor. This is so much better than the rug we had because it had a rubber backing and that too would harm the floor eventually. We looked at rugs without backing such as braided or rag rugs but they tend to slide too much and we worried that they would also be something to trip over. This actually slides a little which makes it easy to clean the area but it does not slide when we are sitting at the computer. For us it was the perfect solution.

Matches and Protects My Cherry Floor

I was worried about tripping on the edge but with tapered edges this is eliminated. Chair rolls easily. It protects and looks nice on my cherry floor.

I use a three legged stool at my desk in our family/breakfast room and it had already started leaving scratches on my wood floors. We have walnut floors and I did not want to use the standard clear plastic but I needed something to keep the stool from scratching my floors. This chair mat blends right in with my floors and keeps the stool from scratching the floors. My desk is a small rolled top and the three foot by four foot is perfect to slide under my desk all the way to the wall and extend out enough to protect my floors. Glad I was able to find this at Staples.

Bought this for my daughter to use in her room elunder chair at her desk. It immediatly got ruts in it and was hard to move the chair around. We ill not buy that type of mat again.
