flexable yet rigid. It came in a roll but after only an hour or so was flat. Chair rolls easily over new carpet.

Typical office chair mat

This size is actually just fine - if I'm roaming any farther than this I might as well stand up. I'm pretty sure that this new one I just bought for my boss' office is the same as the old one I'm still using and though mine's old and has cracks it has not discolored and it doesn't make that crackling/crunching sound of old brittle plastic it's just softer.
