The product is advertised for use on flat pile carpet. I have a low pile carpet - not flat enough I guess - but certainly nothing that can be described as plush; far from it. The matt quickly developed depressions where the casters on my office chair usually are making it more difficult to roll around than if the matt weren't there. This product should be limited to hardwood linoleum tile or other hard surfaces. Use on carpet only if the carpet is VERY thin.

I use it in my apartment so I can keep the carpet in front of my computer table in good shape. After 3 years of use the carpet was without a mark. I bought a new one for my new apartment.
