Very soft material

This mat is made of a soft flexible material which allows the chair rollers to sink into the mat. I left the empty chair on the mat overnight and there were sink hole caused by just the weight of the chair. So if you sit in the chair for just a few minutes the chair will sink far enough into the mat that you'll not be able to move the chair without getting up and moving it. I am returning this mat and looking for one that is more rigid. I have a medium height carpet of 3/4" and that is what this mat is supposed to work on. I think it would probably work fine on a much shorter carpet pile like a commercial type of carpeting. It did grip without any shifting and was somewhat thick.

Might as well get some card board and stick under your chair because that is exactly how flimsy this piece of junk is. The ad said it was for 3/4" carpet yea right. Within 30 seconds the rollers on the chair indent it so you can't roll.

Product meets my needs. The plastic seems thick enough to withstand the pressure of my office chair without breaking through. Wheels of my chair roll smoothly on its surface.

No Chair Mats last forever but I have had good luck with Chair Mats from Staples. I would recommend them. Plus I am on them about 8 hours a day.
