Does the job

Not a bad chair mat does the job and is good for home office. I eventually reworked my office and needed a bigger one so this is going back - not because of quality just don't need to keep it. The new one is Polycarbonate made by Floortex ... I will say this and I know this is supposed to a review of the Staples chair mat but if you can swing the few extra dollars buy the Floortex it's awesome! The material is a well constructed that isn't as soft. Came in a box in a roll and I was worried I'd have to wait for it to flatten out but nope ... just cut the strap and it laid down flat no waiting several days or weeks for the little kinks to flatten out.

Plastic chair mat

This is about the 3rd (4th?) chair mat purchasedfrom Staples---with a five year warranty. They each lasted about a year and a half. I had trouble contacting Staples---finally gota $25. credit coupon. I kept buying thembecause I needed the mat and I had no time toseek elsewhere. The mat works well--but doesnot last out the warranty.
I've been using this desk chair mat for 2 weeks on medium pile carpet. My 5-wheel desk chair does leave divots while I'm working/sitting in the chair. So far the divots are not persistent; they level out in a few hours. I have not found the divots to be a significant issue as others have commented. If you want no divots using a desk chair mat on medium pile carpet one option is to spend 5x on a glass chair mat. For the price I think this vinyl mat works well.

Wish it hadn't been so much money. I am happy with the product but I'm not sure if it was worth the price. I think the value is less than what I paid.
