Chair Mat Stays Put

The mat was easier than I expected to unroll and lay out flat. I needed gloves however to keep from hurting my hands on the spikes. The mat looks good and protects the carpet well. However the plastic material is quite soft and the chair does not roll easily on it. The wheels simly press the mat down into the carpet. Part of the problem may be that my carpet is too plush for this type of mat. I have a couple of hard plexiglass carpet pads which work fine for rolling but they slide around on the carpet. I thought your mat with its built-in plastic spikes would solve the sliding problem and it does. However the material is a little too soft at least for my carpet and I would prefer a harder material (but not as hard and slick as plexiglas). Maybe you'll come up with one in the future.

Exactly what I need

Service and delivery are always excellent. This floor mat works perfectly in my small office behind the desk with rolling chair. Was rolled up on delivery and flattened down quickly - within one day after placing on carpet.

Too Flimsy

The material is too soft and the chair wheels make indentation ruts that are hard to move out of...I'd buy the Polycarbonate version but it's almost three times as much...

Good quality for the price

If you join Staples Rewards you will get great emails offering numerous valuable coupons. I could have chosen any office supply store to purchase my carpet chair mat but there it was a COUPON just for Reward members and I got $10.00 of the purchase of the carpet chair mat. I probably would have waited a longer amount of time and just suffered with the old carpet chair mat that was cracked; the coupon was the catalyst that prompted the purchase and at Staples. The sales people at the store are always very helpful.

This is the second mat of this type we have purchased from Staples in the last five years. The first one cracked in the middle where the chair was rolled to and from the desk on a daily basis. Each day it was in use for business from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm by the administrative assistant for the business which was run from the home. The rest of the time it was used by the family of three who lived in the house including a young child and her friends while they played games. I believe the cracking was due to the weight of the adult during the day and two children or one adult plus a child using the chair during the evening hours.

Very thin Carpet chair mat

When this mat said it was for only 1/4 inch carpet it was actually stretching. This mat is so light weight that it does not give a firm surface for a roll around office chair. It was a waste of money. I am sad I spent the time and money to purchase it. I am thinking about returning it to the store. Not very useful in my office.

The floor protector is a thinner plastic but does what it is suppose to. You can see the indentation of the office chair but it is protecting the floor.
