I love the new mat I bought for under the new chair I bought from Staples. It will keep the chair gliding nicely over the carpet.

Mat is perfect protection

I bought this mat is to protect my hardwood floors from the legs of my chair where I set up my sewing table in our guest/hobby/TV room. I didn't want to have to roll up a mat and store it every time the table (which folds away in a cabinet) was not in use. This mat is virtually invisible so I can leave it on the floor all the time and you'd never know it's a hobby room as well as a guest room. Extra benefit: I dropped a hot glue gun on it and it didn't burn or leave a mark.

A lot softer than I thought but workable. Perhaps I did not realize my carpet was more plush....
