We bought two of these online. They’re very prone to overflowing when the basket and filter don’t work just right. They use those expensive, funky triangle shaped filters. The controls are pretty difficult to see and read. The lid the pot is just plain stupid .

This is the third Brew Central Coffeemaker I've bought this century. It makes wonderful Coffee and has a fine look to it on the counter-top. I continue to buy this model, even though I have two sitting in the basement shop with non functioning brew switches. But then, I am wealthy and can do as I like. And I like the taste of the coffee the Brew Central makes, cup after cup!

I bought my first Brew Central 12 Cup Programmable Coffeemaker 18 years ago. It worked perfect all of those years. One day it created a flood on my counter and I understand a waterline on it must have deteriorated. I felt really bad because I had been so pleased with it and felt I wouldn't be able to find one as dependable. Imagine my delight and happiness when I found out I could get an exact duplicate. It's perfect! If I can get 18 years out of this one, I will probably be dead before it is!

Overall this a good coffee maker. I can't say it stands out over the others in any big way. Below are a few things that I wish were better. Most of these things would make the coffee machine more durable and increase the products life cycle. I get the sense this one will be headed to the landfill just as soon as my previous black and decker. I strongly feel the Cuisinart brand should turn their focus to producing more sustainable products.
1) The pot's lid to self-align better for attaching. 2) The pot's lid attaching to the pot. I feel over time this may wear out and not hold to the pot. Hopefully I'm not pouring coffee for my grandfather at the time. 3) The button's, nob's, and switch to be more robust. They just seem a bit cheap. 4) While filling the machine with water: the water fill port, makers lid, and coffee pot do not allow enough clearance to empty all of the water into the machine. I'm not sure which piece is at fault, I can think of a few solutions to the design that would alleviate the problem. I also would prefer to fill the machine while holding the pot in my left hand. With the port on the right side I find myself using my right hand.

Only problem I found is the time it stays on after brewing! My old one was good to 4 hours, this one is only good for 2 hours. If you forget to restart it, you end up with cold coffee.

Third Cuisinart coffeemaker I have bought over the years, and they have worked well. I understand the aesthetic reason for the retro design, but having to look down the water chamber to see the water is a little tedious compared with the transparent column on the side in later design models that tells you where the water level is.
Overall, it dependably makes good coffee, but the retro design is a little bothersome.
