If I had realized how the maker was designed I would have bought another coffee maker. I bought it online and should have gone to a store to see it before my purchase. Don't like that I can't see how much water I am putting in when getting ready to make coffee. I make a just six or eight cups so have to know how much water is going in the reservoir. I have owned several Cuisinart Coffee Makers, and other Cuisinart products. This is the first time I have been disappointed with one of your products. It makes good coffee, but the fact the maker is so tall that I have to stand on a chair to see how much water I am putting in - I DON'T LIKE THAT AT ALL!!!!!!!!! I could unplug the unit, set it on a table to fill the desired amount of water and then move it back to the counter, hoping I don't spill any, but I DON'T LIKE THAT EITHER. Yes, I fill the decanter with desired amount and then pour it into the reservoir and always spill it. I live in the country and filter my water so it would be easier for me to be able to just look at the side of the maker and see how much I am putting in, using the spouted filtered pitcher that I use. All the other Cuisinart makers I owned had a clear tube on the side of the maker so I could easily see how much water was going into the reservoir.

This is the best coffee maker I have ever bought. We just replaced our old one which was about 15 years old! Long lasting product which delivers delicious coffee. The coffee is always hot when it comes out unlike some other coffee makers.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I don’t like that you can’t see the water amount fro the outside of the machine. It has some weird steps inside. And the on/off button is outdated and stupid. Should be touch button

I like this coffee maker overall but several improvements could make it much better. The markings on the glass carafe are faint at best and make even a person with 20/15 vision squint to see them even with it filled with dark coffee. Secondly with the lid up and the maker running it does not divert the hot water back into the holding tank . Lastly when brewing the steam generated leave the pour spout of the maker and flows up causing condensation on the front of the maker making it difficult to see anything and potential water damage in the future.

I bought this to replace a Cuisinart that died. This was the closest model to what I had. The old one had a "sight glass" on the outside of the tank so you could see how much water you were putting in. That was nice because the counter it sat on isn't well lit. The new one I have to look down inside to see the markings for the number of cups you are making. Unless you have a light right over it you can't see it. I keep a flashlight next to it so I can see what I'm doing. Had I realized that I might have searched a more user friendly model by another manufacturer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A house guest made a pot/ of coffee with a scoop of coffee grounds over a used scoop of grounds. this caused grounds to flow over into the water well and caused the coffeemaker to operate only in a cleaning mode. I have not been able clean it by inverting the empty pot with the filter removed. Is there any advice to her-p me with this problem?

Purchased this item not knowing that it was manufactured with the clock and programming "window" not illuminated. Incredible that it was offered for sale without this feature. Also, the design to have the water fill gauge inside the unit is ridiculous. One needs a flashlight to get things correct for both of these functions. Finally, if the coffee fill unit is pushed down inside too far it is extremely difficult to remove. Only positive is that it does make HOT coffee. WORSE COFFEE MAKER I EVER PURCHASED.
