This is the third time I’ve purchased this model on average they last about 7 years of use making 6-8 cups per day. I keep the reusable parts like the glass carafe and filter holder as spare parts in case they are needed.

Excellent coffee brewer. If you spill coffee grounds where the water goes, hold it upside down over the sink and use the hose sprayer to rinse it out before you brew another pot. Otherwise, the grounds will plug things up.

Cuisinart Brew Central has been used daily for the last three weeks.
*Pros:
-Water measurement line inside fill tank for accurate water: coffee ratios
-Has a water filter that can be changed out. We'll see if it is really necessary as I use cold unfiltered water from my well because it tastes better, so not sure I'm concerned about a filter, but those using a community well may appreciate this.
-I do like the cone-shaped filter as my grinds don't spill out so easily. It did come with a gold filter.
-Having a programmable machine is a must in my household. It was mostly easy to set-up, however this leads me to my

-The LCD clock is not bright and very difficult to see what the time is when setting the programmable settings--unless it is in broad daylight. A brighter LED screen would be helpful.
-My last two coffee makers were cheap: Hamilton Beach and a Black and Decker. The programming was easier: just set the time and hit "program". With the Cuisinart you have to move a dial to "Program" to set the brew time, then move the dial to "Auto On", then flip up the On switch. Too many steps. A green light goes on when this occurs--the same green light that means the maker is brewing. It's a little unsettling as I always wait to make sure that coffee is not brewing NOW, instead of at my programmed time.
Otherwise, a quality machine for the money.

I bought this due to other reviews. So far I agree with these. The pot is one of the best I have used. I like the way it sets up and operates. I think it’s one of the better makers I’ve bought in the past several years. I have bought this brand in the past and was pleased. I use this unit to make two to three pots a day. The longevity will tell the tell.

Your new design sadly eliminates the water level gauge on the side of the coffeemaker. It is difficult to accurately determine the water level in the carafe using the level marks scribed on the carafe. The water level markers inside the coffee maker are of little use.

I purchased Cuisinart 12 cup coffee machine as a replacement to my broken Cuisinart. In past having gone through coffee pots every six months I took the chance on then a more expensive machine to see if it would last longer. To my surprise it lasted 16 years with using it daily and making average of three pots of coffee. Best tasting coffee to! Self cleaning feature is great as well as auto on and off. I keep my heat setting on medium and very rarely use the 1-4 cup feature. Love this machine and have recommended to my friends.
Con: New one has black plastic back when old one was stainless, cheaper look. Cheaper to make I guess.
