After a few uses we noticed the burner starting to scratch (we’ve never had a Cuisinart do this). We unplugged the coffee maker and stored it away and brought out our backup (which is also a Cuisinart).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very sleek coffee maker, fits perfectly in a small space. The coffee is spectacular, the water filter makes a smooth pot of coffee. I can make 4 cups or 14 cups at anytime. This coffee maker is a great addition to any kitchen.

In the past I have used a french press, percolator, and k-cups to make coffee, with varied results. My Cuisinart makes consistently good coffee with easy clean up. The temp and boldness controls are great.

This is probably my fourth one of these coffee makers. The brew capacity is the main draw for me. This machine has a life span of just about 3 years (warranty is 3 years). It requires more frequent cleaning that the machine will indicate if you want good tasting coffee. I do wish it kept the coffee a little bit hotter than the highest setting.
So a potential buyer knows, I use this machine about 340 days a year, and will keep it on beyond the maximum time of four hours frequently. Like I said the capacity was my main thing, few if any 14 cup machines out there in this price range

This is our third iteration of this coffee maker over the last 10 years; very pleased with how it performs and how easy it is to use. Would give 5 stars but for how long they have lasted in service (<5 yrs.) and the awkward access to filling the water reservoir.
