We bought the same model as what we had before. The previous coffee maker started leaking at the bottom 3 years and 4 days after we bought it. It was 4 days after the warranty period expired. I want this on the record in case it happens again. The current coffee maker is working fine--I just hope the leakage does not happen again. Your thoughts?

We purchased this larger coffeemaker to replace our old 12-cup Cuisinart that finally tuckered out after many years. The maker has some nice new features, including the adjustable heat setting for the warming plate. The blue glow of the clock is a bit much, but we're getting used to it. My biggest complaint is that the once the machine has finished brewing the coffee and is still turned on, it makes very strange noises that sound like a switch is turning on and off inside the machine. My daughter has the same machine and says hers doesn't make any noise, so I am a bit concerned.

My last Cuisinart coffee machine gave up the ghost after 12 years of almost daily service. I chose the DCC-3200 as a replacement because if offered me the best shopping value considering price, features, and brand reliability. While I can't predict long-term reliability for this model, I know it does make great coffee and has several design improvements over my old DCC-1200. Improvements include a larger shower head over the ground coffee, a backlit digital display, a bold setting, 14-cup capacity, and a useful water level indicator (side window). This review will be updated in 12 years to report on actual longevity.
