This coffeemaker replaced an old Cuisinart 12 cup that had seen better days. I do like the "showerhead" configuration over the coffee grounds as I think it brews a more flavorful coffee. My only problem with the machine is that the lid doesn't open as far back as my old Cuisinart did, and since this machine is a bit taller, it does make pouring water into the coffeemaker a bit more challenging for us vertically challenged people.
