Used medium grind coffee which always has tasted good before, but with this coffee maker the coffee is bitter, looks muddy and has an oil slick on the top. Terrible coffee, even after I lessened the amount of grounds used.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Really like this coffeemaker. I'm picky with taste and prefer fresh gound beans. I tried a few other coffee makers (Hamilton Beach and Bunn), but ended up returning them. This coffeemaker is really good. I like the auto start and the auto shut off. I recommend!

Cuisinart light to Indicate when coffee ready

I could not give it a 5 star because there is one drawback. It does not have a light to show the coffee is ready. It does have a beeper, but if you do not hear that or cannot hear that because you are hard of hearing, then you have to wonder when the coffee is ready. This is our third Cuisinart. The other two had a light to indicate when the coffee was ready.

New Cuisinart machine - as great as my last one

This is my second Cuisinart coffee maker. The first was the 10 cup machine with stainless steel carafe. I had it for more than a decade and it faithfully made my coffee every day. The warmer plate rusted out and ultimately I decided on this 14 cup maker with glass carafe. I like the pouring from the new carafe - it is easier and I can see how much is left in the pot. I also like the settings for strength of the brew and the temperature of the coffee. The coffee is great, the brew time is excellent, and the new settings are nice to have. I like the blue backlighting on the face and buttons. I’ve had this new machine about a month and I’m every bit as happy with it as my last one. It is everything I have come to expect from Cuisinart products.
