quality slightly worse than expected

This came really quickly and the price is ok for a kid's bed. It was simple to put together by myself. Bed rails are each 2 pieces bolted together which looks a bit junky, and the side legs are bolted to the rails with no stop so I almost pushed the bolt all the way through the pvc on the side which would have been a disaster. Slats are super flimsy, even to support a 3 year old. Weight limit is 220 lbs but my 170 lb husband just broke a slat sitting on the bed. I imagine I'll be adding a piece of plywood instead over top sooner rather than later to actually make the bed last longer than a week. Also this bed is not odor free - it is definitely off gassing and smells quite bad, like you'd expect of a pvc bed.
Otherwise, head board and foot board are super cute and my daughter is in love with the bed so it's not a total loss.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
