Wasn't on sale - but I don't care because I already own several Greenworks 60v outdoor products and couldn't be more pleased with them. Tool only option (no battery) was exactly what I was looking for because I already have plenty of the 60v batteries from previous purchases. (The fact 60v batteries can be interchanged on multiple Greenworks products was a key factor in buying decision).
Overall light in weight - it's not going to do the job a heavier gas-powered tiller would do on hard compact soil. For my purposes (house edging and stand-alone beds) with medium hardness soil, it worked great. Easily turned 5-6" depth of soil for planting. Plenty of power remained in the battery after usage.
Benefit of lighter weight - can easily be lifted in/out/over anything.
Does what I need it to do in size areas I use it in.
Pros: Convenient, Easy to Use, Durable, Powerful

I've purchased Greenworks products before and liked them, this one I do not for several reasons: (1) The tangs on the tiller are basically just saw blades in shape - they do not cut roots (like a typical "L-shaped" blade does. They mix dirt, but do not cut the roots of any small plant; (2) It's not very well made, it broke about 30 minutes into use when the cotter-pin they have on the blades fell off and dissappered into the dirt; (3) and the ergonomics on this are really poorly designed - the handle should be around 18" shorter. You end with the handle being closer to your arm pits than your waist. I did give it two stars because the battery lasted a full 30 minutes before I needed to recharge it, and it was easy to assemble.
Pros: Environmentally Safe
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice product. It is a little tricky to put the tines on properly. I suggest watching the video. It's very low to the ground, so you have to bend down to operate it.

Nice tool, broken piece

This was a gift for my girlfriend and, while satisfied overall, it was very disappointing to open the box to find a broken piece. Not a major piece affecting functionality, but the plastic clip to hold the wire along the handle. She asked for a Mantis and I convinced her to try this because I have 3 other Greenworks tools. So, I will probably hear about this for a long time. A very long time.

My husband said that it would never work in our clay soil. It surprised him. I won't let him use it. It's my gift to myself. I've put in a grape garden and several beautiful flower gardens. You'll never regret this little honey!!!
