Pieces could have been packaged better
on December 28, 2023
Posted by: DameTrickyEagle102
I purchased this set as a gift to my niece and we realized immediately that this set was going to be challenging to put together. I think the biggest complaint is that the pieces were in all different bags instead of packaged by each section (like other sets we've put together) which caused a lot of questions to make sure we were using the correct pieces to construct the set. Also the "Statue of Liberty" was comically small.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great build but instructions error
on March 15, 2023
Posted by: Kayla
I bought this for my son. He enjoyed the build but there was an instructions error as I’ve seen mentioned in a previous review of this product in 2019. I assumed the instructions error would be fixed by now but it’s still there. My son ended up realizing it was an error and got through it, but it did cause him some frustration. He enjoys the set though!! We are a Lego family so I know this isn’t the usual circumstance.

First Ever Full Lego Set
on February 25, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I was a child, the only Lego sets I collected in the early to mid 90s were earned through a promotion with Kellogg’s cereal where you mail the form with several UPC codes, if I remember. It was four sets of 30+ pieces and were of a race car, glider, boat and helicopter. Fast forward to now, I win this set at a company raffle and was hooked after that. I took 4 hours of uninterrupted building. Mentally, I did get a little frustrated during the built. After each completed task, I felt I’m never going to finish, even with this 598 piece set. I wanted to be easy and finish fast. I didn’t enjoy at first as I hoped I would. So I forced myself to break it down brick by brick and start over. I needed to take time building and enjoy it. I need to work on my patience as well. Mind you, this review is not a dig towards Lego, this was personal things I needed to work on. In order to test my patience for the rebuild, I purchased a lighting kit for this set to make it mow challenging. The rebuild took over the course of 5 days each, one to two hours each day. And voila! I found the enjoyment of building my first Lego set a second time. Bravo to Lego and it’s Architecture series. I’m an engineer by trade and really come to appreciate the little details of each brick, component, and building of this set, and many sets that followed. The spare bricks and little statue were a plus. Looking forward to building other Lego sets!

The Not So Big Apple
on December 26, 2022

This was my first architecture set and I didn’t think I would enjoy it that much because of the low piece count. I was pleasantly surprised with the finished model and really enjoyed seeing each of the buildings take shape. The Statue of Liberty seems like it’s not too scale and it’s hard to know what it is, but the other buildings in the skyline are completely recognizable. The Empire State Building and One World Trade Center are awesome recreations of the originals and the completed set looks great on display! Nice job Lego designers!!

Pretty Good
on December 12, 2022

I would say this is a mild set. It looks pretty good on a shelf, but it is not that sturdy. The white and clear building breaks apart really easily if you accidentally shake the shelf or something like that, but over all it is a good set.

Interesting design choices
on June 10, 2022

I would have to say that this is almost a good set. What ruins it is the Chrysler Building as it looks nothing like the real thing. I have it displayed with some other architecture sets and I always seem to get the question “what is this building” every time someone visits and sees the set.
If there was a redesign of that building I think it would be a bit better
