Lots of overclocking features and flexibility (them VRMs though!). I managed to push my 5900x to 4.7Ghz all-core (w/ Noctua NH-D15) and my DDR4-4000 RAM frequency to 4000Mhz with this board when others struggled.

Excellent mother board. Great build quality, excellent power phase control, great thermals and great overclocking. Fantastic Bios with all the bells and whistles and great update support! Asus is always my go to motherboard because they are consistant and great quality. Never had to replace a bad asus board unlike other brands.

I have been a Systems Software Engineer for 40+ years with extensive multiprocessor operating systems experience. My local home servers were old and I didn't want to port their drivers to a contemporary windows 10 platform.
As my hardware upgrade, I populated my new ROG Crosshair VIII Hero with 128 GB memory and an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X (12 cores/ 24 threads)! After tweaking hardware parameters and upgrading to latest ROG Crosshair VIII Hero Bios. What a pleasure!!!! Windows 10 Pro boots in a reasonable amount of time. With GT-AX11000 routers and a 144MHz PG43UQ , online gaming and software development is fun again . . .

This board while on the higher end of the spectrum in price compared to other X570 boards, the Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi) is loaded with a huge amount of features when compared to all but the highest quality of boards.
Its extremely robust VRM can overclock my Ryzen 7 CPU easily while keeping all temps on the components low and very easily controlled by a small amount of airflow through the case.
One of my major gripes is the board is a bit cluttered by all of the headers on the right and bottom sides, this board really should have been moved to the E-ATX form factor, the 24pin plug should have also been made right angle to keep wiring clutter to a minimum and also to keep it's appearance clean.
While 3 m.2 slots would have been nice 2 is sufficient and acceptable. I'd say the biggest missing feature of a board in this price range would be a functional aluminum backplate. A board of this price and features list really should have been equipped by a quality back plate.
