Just getting used to I’m surprised I ran out of water before the ice maker shut off …The ice overflowed the bin but stopped because there wasn’t any more water. Is this normal?

First 6 months ice maker worked great, then it broke. I don't think the replacement works as well as the first one though. Slower, Ice is softer, even slushy texture at times.

We have had to unplug the machine daily to defrost it because the ice full light keeps turning on even though it’s not full.

Summer is hot and humid on western PA. Because my refrigerator does not have an ice maker, trying to keep enough ice on hand for drinks has been tough. Set up was easy. We started enjoying ice in just a few hours after delivery. Looking forward to the rest of this summer and lots of ice cold drinks.
