Outstanding Scanner

This is a review for the Epson DS-530 II Color Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I've been using this scanner for a little over a week. I've scanned maybe about over 100 documents and 100 photos. I have no complaints. It works as expected. With this particular scanner, I can place two photographs of 5 x7 on the glass plate at a time. The built-in software will give you two separate photo files and will self-adjust the photos for alignment if they are not placed on the glass platen exactly straight. This feature is a real time saver. I continue to use the scanner as a document scanner because it's a little quicker than my all-in-one printers can scan and it gives me a good quality scan. The digital software, built into the unit, automatically performs some color correction to each photo and does that fairly well. This scanner also scans negatives, slides and does a wonderful job doing it. It has TWAIN and ISIS® drivers for seamless integration. I had many documents scanned and they look fabulous. There is a brief learning curve and you need to experiment with all the settings and how to use the included holders. It has fast speeds up to 35 ppm/70 ipm1. It has auto rotation if the document is not lined hp properly it also has auto cropping, dirt fetection and paper protection.

Another great product by Epson. Epson DS-530 II Color Duplex Document Scanner helps me in my job of scanning documents daily. It's easy to set up. It's compact. It's very stylish. I just don't know how I could do all my scanning jobs without this Epson DS-530 II Color Duplex Document Scanner. I highly recommend all of Epson products especially if you run a business. I have never had a bad Epson product yet. The colors are really clear and sharp. Awesome Scanner for the Intended Purpose

First impressions: The unboxing of the scanner was straightforward and simple. The package arrived to my doorstep relatively undamaged. The product along with accessories were easy to remove from the box, and everything was connected to my computer within 10 minutes. The scanner is a nice modern, white color design that does not take up much footprint when closed up. Even with the rear feed tray and front trays extended, it does not take up an absurdly large amount of space.
Setup & Usage: The device is standard USB 3.0 Type B, WITHOUT WiFi capabilities. The Epson Scan & Document Capture software installation process was a relative breeze. The latest version of the software, the “Drivers and Utilities Combo Package Installer”, can be found under the product support page on the Epson website. My setup process was performed on Windows 10, so I am not able to comment on the software installation for MacOS users.
Scanning documents itself is fast and straightforward - just make sure you orient your documents correctly in the rear feed tray; documents go in with the front side and top being facing down. The scanner processes multi-page documents very quickly, with double sided capture working like a charm. Document Capture Pro was able to sense the sizes of my documents and receipts with ease, ranging from standard 8.5 x 11 letter size paper to long store receipts resembling the ones you get at CVS. The scanning software also allows you to choose a variety of document format outputs other than PDF, which is very convenient if you are scanning a picture vs. scanning text only documents. These settings can also be customized and saved as presets, for fast access and reuse in the future.
I would like to highlight the duplex functionality of the printer, which saves so much time compared to non-duplex scanners. The speed at which the scanner processes double sided documents is quite quick, with the limitation being how fast your computer and the Epson software can process the scans. As mentioned previously, make sure you insert the front side of your double sided page face down, otherwise, the page order will be scanned and processed in reverse. This is not an issue for a single page of double sided content as it can be easily corrected in Adobe Acrobat, but if you are scanning stack of documents, it is less than ideal to have everything the wrong direction.
Scan Quality: Being primarily a document scanner, the quality has been flawless on all my receipts and standard documents, with clear text that was easily processed by OCR and made editable in Adobe Acrobat. For color image scans, the color resolution and tones are slightly lacking, but for the most part, get the job done. Granted, this was not designed for scanning and digitizing photographs and artwork so if you are looking for a scanner that preserves image coloring with minimal tweaks to the software, I suggest looking elsewhere for something better suited for the job. See pictures for examples of quality.
For the time that I have used the machine for its intended designed purpose, it has outperformed the previous scanners that I have owned. I hope that the device continues to perform well into its service life, producing speedy, quality scans. I have not needed to contact customer service for any reason, and hope it stays that way. I give this product an unbiased, 5/5 stars so far.
My background is in Information Technology and Computer Engineering, so your experience with ease-of-setup may vary. The only really difficult part, is finding the download link to the software package, which can be easily accomplished if you know how to use Google. If not, then buying a scanner, quite frankly, may not have been the best move for you – may I suggest the local library with scanning capabilities on a computer and live support from the staff?

Super Fast Scanner!!

At first glance it looks so compact, setup was such a breeze. My system recognized and installed the driver right away, I did however had to go to the Epson website to download some software. which also was quite easy to install, once installed completely, I had to try it first I scanned id cards.it scanned both sides I think it took about 2 seconds to scan 4 cards. yes, it was that fast, I then really put it to a test and scan 13 standard-size papers also full-duplex it's amazingly fast. by the way, it was able to scan id cards and my printer's scanner couldn't because the guides were able to close to form fit the ids. it will be an

Great Scanner!

I had lots of important documents that were in bins that were put away in a closet in case I needed them. I have always been afraid to damage them or lose them. I received the Epson DS-530 II Color Duplex Document Scanner and I love the features that it has.
It was so easy to set it up and it came with all the cables needed. I followed the instructions on the guide it came with and I simply turned it on and connected it to the internet and went to Epson's Support site to download the software. Once the software downloaded I scanned the first important document to save it to my desk top folder. I loaded the document facedown, short edge first and I pressed the start button. I was amazed at how fast the documents were scanned and how it scanned both sides. Which is great that it has the duplex capability because you don't need to put the document back in to scan the other side. I also noticed that it scanned in color and it has the double feed detection, slow feed, cancel and start buttons.
I'm so happy with the scanner and how it did a great job in scanning all my important documents and saving them to my windows pc. I recommend to anyone who needs to save important documents in on their pc to purchase this wonderful scanner.

I am very happy with this EPSON DS-530 II Color Document Scanner as it is very easy to install, configure and use. , for me it is the perfect solution since it is very fast and efficient (smart option). Now I can get the most out of my duty cycle as this scanner includes TWAIN and ISIS drivers for better integration with almost every document management system out there. In addition, this color scanner is very fast and safe for a super efficient work of my documents. Scan in color and I didn't get stuck even once ………………………………………………………………………………… This scanner does not have Wi-Fi, so you must be connected to a computer each time you need to scan. Also, keep in mind that each document must be face down at the time of processing. It has 5 buttons to its right in the following order. On -Double feed detection -Slow feed- Cancel and Start, in this scanner there is no margin of error and its function is duplex and it scans both sides automatically. Its size and weight are perfect, as well as its fast and safe shape, which makes this scanner of great quality and ultra-fast. This scanner was received free for testing and review.

The Epson DS-530II scanner works great and is perfect for scanning all my paperwork and organizing it on my computer. It small, compact and portable. It's lightweight and fits nicely on my desk. The top folds out becoming the input tray and the return tray pulls out at the bottom. It was a breeze to set up. The software was easy to download and I had it up and running within 10 minutes.
I was able to scan all of my paperwork quickly and accurately. It accurately counts the documents its scanning and leave out duplicates. The duplex feature works well and it automatically scans both sides of the documents. It scans in color as well, which is a nice feature. It's also adjustable for paper size, so you can scan small items, like IDs. It rarely jams but when it does, clearing the jam is very simple to do. It doesn't connect to wifi, so it has to be plugged into your computer to operate.

This Epson Ds-530II scanner is so light weight and easy to use. Set up/download took less then 15 mins to do. This scanner does not have wifi so it needs to be connected to a computer whenever needing to scan. The top of the scanner flips up and that is where the documents go, the documents need to be face down when scanning . It has to size adjusters on it, one on each side to do different side documents. The bottom has the return tray that the documents go once scanned. The scanner has 5 buttons on the right, power, double feed detection, slow feed, cancel and start. The double feed detection is so nice to have so you are not accidentally scanning the same document twice. To clear a jam on this scanner is super easy to do. You push the light gray button on the top left side of the body and it opens up the scanner. You remove the jam and it will start where it left off.
This scanner is also nice because it a duplex feature and automatically scans both sides of a document with out you telling it to. It does not put the blank pages in the scan document. It omits those out on its own. The scanner program in the computer counts the pages as it goes, I double checked 3 batches that I scanned it and they were correct, with the amount of pages I had. After the 1st 3 batches I stopped checking. I feel this scanner is very accurate in getting all documents scanned in. The scanner also does color which is very helpful with some of our documents that you scan in.
This scanner is a nice weight and size, when not in use it folds up until it is needed. I love how it can scan my documents in mins and puts them in the downloaded folder for me to rename and move where needed. This scanner has made life alot easier that is forsure.
