Only thing is that there was a plastic stopper in the center to prevent breakage in shipping and there were no directions in or on the box! Had to call customer service for information. Once we pulled out the stopper the punch worked beautifully!

It is exactly what I wanted. Only reason for not giving it a perfect score is due to vinyl/plastic bottom cover and I have some difficulty placing more that two sheets of paper in the punch space. The bottom cover is good because of ease of removal for emptying waste and does not scratch desk but it is not as durable as the metal cover of my previous 50 year old punch. I would say 4.5 is more realistic than 4.0 or 5.0.

Need an occasional 3 hole punch for putting copies of research materials in a binder Don't need anything fancy. This does the job though I agree with other reviewers that the paper insert area is not as well-designed as it could be. Mostly I do no more than 5-7 sheets at a time. I split it up if there are more than that. But the economical price makes this a reasonable choice for the amount of hole-punching I do.
