Jagged edges rip easily

We bought these to print up address and return address labels for our Save the Dates for our wedding. My fiancé was able to print the labels up perfectly and very easily from our Excel file so that worked out great and saved us a ton of time! Unfortunately though the labels themselves just don't come off very easily and many ended up looking sort of ripped around the edges when we put them on the envelopes. I was thinking perhaps it's because we're doing so many labels at one time and we're getting sloppy as we go along but even going slowly - the labels still ripped :(
