I have never had an issue with these. They are thicker then others, therefore do not split. The handle part holds up as well. Smooth, no rough spots

These Staples Binder Clips work just fine for my purposes. Occasionally I use them on stacks on paper, but even more, I use them in art pieces I create where I clip art onto a LED light pad, and for that they work beautifully. I remove the silver clip ends once I have them mounted as desired, and it is only in the removal of this part that I might encounter some difficulty. However, these were not meant to be taken apart, so that's on me.
