I thought it was a chrome unit but it is black. No biggie. A couple of nice features beside what's said in my heading. First the bottom has leveling feet which is great for minor leveling corrections. Second although the instructions don't say how to use them there are a number of small hooks the can hang on the edge of the shelf for items that have eye hooks or the like. The extra wall mount hardware is ok but I used a wooden brace attached to studs to secure it.

Nice heavyweight shelf unit. Simple assembly. A bit concerned about how long the plastic compression components will last.
