electrical extention cord works fine

after buying this i went to purchase an electrical power strip from staples... however that item had a short in the switch and whatever is plugged into the strip looses power... shuts on and off. it would take more of my time to go and do the exchange than the item is worth.

I was looking for a long ethernet cable and this is what was available. It works of course but I don't need safety covers for a cable that carries minimal voltage. Nor do I intend to disconnect anything after I plug it into the system and walk away so the safety covers will just dangle there forever.
