I use binder clips in lieu of paper clips whenever there are a number of sheets that I want to read as if they were a book. Performance wise there is no comparison.

used in strange way

i am actually using them atm to hold my garbage bags up in my trash can. i know it sounds strange but i was getting tired of the bags slipping down into the cans when they weren't full and throwing away half empty bags. i am not doing that anymore. i am sure that i will find other uses for them. they are good for many things. they are big enough to be used on cereal bags and things of that short as well.
