[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packing Tape to test and evaluate at no cost to me from 3M. I tested the tape on a cardboard box as I was not shipping anything during the testing period. I found the tape to be thick and heavy duty. Due to the thickness of the tape, I did find the plastic dispenser somewhat poor in tearing the tape off the roll. I believe this tape will more than manage sealing any packages I send in the future. I like the heavy feel to the tape and it had an exceptionally good stickiness to keep my box enclosed.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Super strong, super hold power!

One of the biggest headaches for shipping a box, is knowing whether the tape you've used is going to survive the "box kickers" during its transit. No worries, with this Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping & Packaging Tape! With some super sticky backing, and strong base, I dare say this tape could even withstand a trip around the world, during the holidays, without having to worry about its ability to survive! Definitely recommended!!

Awesome tape, only one layer needed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great tape, sticks very well to cardboard boxes and plastic shipping envelopes, without requiring multiple layers. I used this tape on multiple return packages and none peeled off in both hot and cold conditions.

The dispenser works but could be designed better

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the product to evaluate for free from 3M. I actually have an older model that I use all the time and both models seem to be the same style so I can attest to its durability but there are things that can make it better. The cardboard piece that covers the blade can not easily be removed (see picture), sure the flap piece comes off but the part behind the blade does not slide out once the flap is off. This can interfere with getting a clean cut of the tape, I'll probably have to use scissors to carefully cut it out but it could be easily fixed by having the holes align with the part that is ripped off so that it slides out on its own without risk of injury. Additionally when the roll was still full, it would sometimes get stuck and not rotate easily, I couldn't actually find the sticking point and it doesn't happen on my older one when I put in a new roll or now that I have used several layers on the new one. The tape itself also doesn't unroll smoothly but instead sort of jerks out in segments. Finally the inner latch that you use to replace rolls could be designed better, it doesn't always stay closed. In fact on the older model, I just use a piece of tape to keep it closed but again the design could be improved to keep them shut. As to where I use this product, I send baked goods to deployed soldiers every week so use these packaging dispensers to seal the boxes and apply the mailing labels to the box. These boxes are tossed around a lot during their journey overseas so need to be taped securely. I have been sending these boxes for almost 5 years and have sent almost 350 boxes so the dispensers and tape do work but could be improved with my suggestions.

Very strong tape

Did not disappoint!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product that was sent to me by 3m, and while I did not use if for packing.. i used it on mother's day for my balloon garland * i normally use crazy glue to add smaller balloons* . I just folded the slice of tape in half and it worked! My balloons remained attached to the other balloons... then I used it to actually hang the balloon garland * i use fishing line* and again they stayed up! AMAZING!!! Note I live in Miami and it was humid. This tape is clear, stays on and works! I can only imaging how good it will do with an actual box!!!

Strong, Durable, and easy To Apply

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this tape for shipping packages. I like that it is easy to apply, strong, and stays stuck. The applicator makes it easy to apply it exactly where I want It and then easily cut it at the end. I found that the tape is extremely strong, and I like that once I put in place, it stays stuck.

GOOD, STRONG, AND STAYS “STUCK”

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the one packaging tape I can rely on. It stays “stuck”. I was provided a free sample of this product in return for my honest opinion, but previously it was the brand of taor I normally sought out when purchasing packing tape.
