We needed file folders in a pinch and usually go with an online merchant we have used for years. We decided to drive to our nearest Staples (50 mi) and purchase what they had. Compared to our usual folders these are not as well made. We keep clients' documents stored in these and they are handled often so these won't last too long. Compared side by side the competitor's is superior.

I thought the file folders weren't durable enough. I would prefer folders where the folding ridges are closer to better protect documents.

Fine but slightly too tall and too long for an expanding folder

These are good except for one thing. They are too tall for a legal-size expanding folder (also bought from Staples) and block the expanding folder's tab . They're also a bit too long to fit in the expandable folder without folding or cutting off the end (which I shouldn't have to do). They're useable but the height poses a problem in filing and finding. I don't have a different legal-size file folder to compare with the Staples one. Of course the problem could be the expandable folders being not wide enough or high enough but I've compared them with others (made by Corporate Express) and that doesn't seem to be the case with the length. The Staples expandables' backs are about 1/4" less tall than the other ones though.
