Standard tape dispenser that gets the job done

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently used this Staples tape dispenser and overall it gets the job done with few drawbacks. I would absolutely get it again. Upfront this is a standard tape able to write on but NOT clear tape. The label says invisible but it is not quite that. This is opaque and easy to see where you are putting it. White paper blends fine but if using on colored paper another clear tape might be the better route if you don’t want to see your tape. The dispenser has a simple clear plastic design that makes it easy to see how much tape is left. The curved shape is ergonomic enough to hold without being slippery smooth. The build quality is decent for a basic tape dispenser but you aren’t buying this for extra frills. The cutting edge is sharp enough to slice the tape easily but the edges aren’t super clean. It’s straightforward to use—just pull and cut. I like the well-marked start tab for the tape it made it very easy to start the new roll. The best thing about this dispenser is its portability and clear casing making it easy to store and see when the tape is running low. If you’re looking for a lightweight and affordable option for occasional use this does the trick. As for writing on the tape ballpoint pens work great while gel pens smear which is to be expected. If you need to label something stick to ballpoint or permanent markers for best results - in my tests that worked best.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our family of seven goes through a lot of tape! I appreciate that the Staples Invisible Tape with Dispenser (3/4" x 18.05 yds) came in a six pack. The dispensers feel sturdy and are nice to handle. The blade teeth feel pointy and sharp--you have to be careful when using it especially if allowing children to use it. Despite the sharp teeth the tape doesn't always end up with a nice clean rip. I am not a fan of the messy end look. The "invisible tape" shows up a lot more than I had expected on wooden surfaces (like when hanging up notes or posters) which was a little disappointing. It does stick really well and also comes off surfaces nicely.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoyed using this invisible tape with dispenser. It is very versatile and easy to use. The tape is durable and works amazingly. I used this tape on a recent project with my daughter for school. We were able to tape pictures on a poster board with no problems. The tape held up amazingly! I highly recommend this invisible tape!

Good tape but hard to rip

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These tape dispensers are similar to other brands in the look but it is very easy to switch out replacement refills. I did have some trouble ripping the tape and it would pull long and stretch sometimes taking a few times to get the right size. The tape says that it is writable but it was difficult with pencil and some pens but markers worked the best. The tape itself worked great and held well. But know the matte does not disappear when applied and you can see it. Didn’t bother me but something to know.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This staples branded invisible tape is super strong it’s had a super good stick to it as it was able to hold up the weight of my pen being taped on the wall. Used this tape for my son’s school project where we needed to take pictures on a poster board and hang it in class and it held up pretty well no pictures fell off so I have no complaints. I was also able to write over the tape with a sharpie marker with no problems like ink smearing or “bleeding”. I will continue to use this tape for anything I need to tape up from school projects to work projects to even holiday decorations

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am really happy with this pack of tape dispensers. The role has a very decent amount in it and I like the matte finish. The width is nice as well. It truly gives an invisible finish when using. I even tried writing on it with a ballpoint pen - worked great. Being a mom of small kids we go through a good amount for crafts fixing homework papers and mending book pages. Each kid has their own dispenser which even they can use with no trouble and no one fights. And I have my own! The role is smooth and pulls easily tears as it should. It's really a solid tape.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I work from home and these tape dispensers were great. Easy to use fit in my office drawer easily and rips the tape fine. My daughter was even able to use them easily for her arts and crafts projects. We used the tape dispenser to wrap a gift for a birthday party. I was able to label baggies for my daughters arts and crafts supplies. Overall very pleased and highly recommend.

Sticking With This Tape

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tape isn’t something I usually have strong feelings about—until it doesn’t work properly. That said I’ve developed complicated feelings for Staples’ Invisible Tape. The matte finish is my favorite feature—it’s smooth and not glossy which I prefer. I’ve used it for everything from wrapping gifts to fixing math worksheets that my daughter has used an eraser on too aggressively and it holds up. For day-to-day use this tape works really well. If you’re looking for bigger projects though—like making leprechaun traps—you might need stickier tape. My daughter made the best of it though as pictured here. Otherwise there’s enough quantity that I won’t run out in the middle of a project which is a win for me. What I appreciate most about Staples Invisible Tape though is its ease of use. It glides right off the roll without me having to fight it. It’s a small detail but one that makes me appreciate its quality overall.
