The temporary, but positive sealing of ScotchBlue Painter's tape allows for a variety of uses. Aside from masking painted surfaces, I have used this tape to temporarily seal containers, post signage and secure/clamp parts prior to connecting with permanent adhesives or fasteners. It holds fast, but removes easily without any evidence of adhesive residue or marring of the surface to which it was attached.

I use ScotchBlue Painter's Tape for masking off sharp edges and chrome / aluminum trim when detailing my vintage Porsche. It protects those parts perfectly from the random-orbit polisher, and makes cleaning up the polishing compound much easier. Highly recommended!

At times the blue tape can peel the sub surface paint off of drywall compound.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After using the tape for years I have found the product to be distructive. Do not use the product over painted areas that were over skimmed areas of drywall wall compound. I only paint with benjamin moore paints and I paint with recommended products. the blue tape will peel the paint and primer right off the cured drywall mud. very frustrating that you have to go back over areas.

Thank you for taking the time to write a Rating & Review on our ScotchBlue™ Original Painter's Tape for Multi-Surfaces. This tape is recommended for primed and painted surfaces that have cured for 30 days or longer before application and has a 14 day removal time. If there is a need to use tape on a freshly painted or delicate surface we have ScotchBlue™ Painter's Tape for Delicate Surfaces which can be applied to paint that has cured 24 hours or longer and has a 60 day removal time. From your review we are unsure if the walls were primed or how long the surface had been painted before application. We would ask you contact us for further assistance at 800-494-3552 M-F 7:00 am to 6:00 pm CST. We will discuss your application, ask for our remaining product for our lab to review, and work with you for further resolution. Thanks again, and please keep an eye out for a direct e-mail!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a part time painter, I have a foot in both the professional and do it yourself markets. I find this product to be user friendly and have never had paint seep beneath the seal on trim projects I have used it on. It is a tape that even the most novice home owner can use with confidence.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works for protecting areas for painting, of course. Also use it to cover zippers on pillow protectors, to keep out dust mites. Like the bold blue color which makes it easy to spot.
