They are strong enough to hold more than a few pages. I am visual so I like to separate and see what I have to do once I stick them to my white board. I have tried many different magnets but these are the best out there.
The three magnets used together are strong enough to hold onto the giant desktop calendar that we have on the side of our fridge. This makes it easy to see everyone's appointments in one central place. Make sure to take all of the pages out of the calendar holder and free up the bottom ends of the pages so that you can easily flip ahead to see subsequent months. The top of the clips make a nice place to rest three different color pens. I use one for appointments one for birthdays/anniversaries and the third for other special events such as vacations and parties!
I like to hang the 12-page calendar on the side of the refrigerator the only metal surface to hang it for handy access. But it needs a magnetized clip to hold it in place. Plastic clips have not been heavy or secure enough and the calendar slips. These metal clips one on each side hold it in place. The calendar has pockets and when they get papers event tickets and notices stuffed in the pockets it gets rather heavy which in the past has made the calendar slip and sometimes fall. But these sturdy metal magnetized clips hold it firmly in place.
I will be using them this winter to hold the 'temporary heavy-duty plastic' on my front porch which was replaced this summer ... but it became too late in the 'construction season' in New Hampshire to entirely finish the porch itself and fabricate 'winter panels' that can be removed for the summer because I hang plants there -- but the magnets are useful all sorts of places -- they attach well to any 'base metal' ... and with more than one can be used with 'non-metal' objects such as my 'temporary porch plastic".
these magnetic binder clips serve my purposes just perfectly. I like to put my calendar on my ref door- but no magnet held them up well enough until I "discovered" these items at the STAPLES store. geeez....someone should have told me about them sooner.
