Just terrible. I used this tape and my lines are far from neat. I have to re do my project because of how bad the lines look from the paint bleeding through. It’s highly frustrating

what junk it is. put it on the wall, pressed to be sure it sealed, bled through all the way down both walls. when i went to take it off it peeled off the older paint so now i have to paint more walls to fix the damage. would never buy this junk again. what should have been a quick project has now turned into a two day job... what a waste of money.

Horrible tape!

Hello,
I never ever leave revues or comments about products but what I just went through I wouldn’t put anyone else through. I just spent all day taping the ceiling of two rooms. When I removed your Scotch Blue Original Multi-Surface painters tape from the ceiling that was painted 48 hours ago, it pulled almost all of the paint off with it. I can’t believe I actually gave the blue tape a try. This project is pretty much a do over and a waste of a vacation. This product is garbage and I will never use any of your products again. This will also be copied and pasted on every site/comment/revue page I can find so other people do not purchase this horrible product and go through this. I have painted many rooms in my homes and of course tried this tape because it was on sale. Thanks for a loss of 3 day. Your product is horrible!

Hello - We are sorry to hear of the trouble. Unfortunately, the Scotch Blue Original Painters Tape 2090, should not be applied to coatings that are less than 30 days old. For fresh paint we would recommend the use of our Delicate Surface Painter's Tape 2080, which can be applied to painted surfaces that are at least 24 hours old. Please feel free to connect with us directly at 1-800-494-3552 M-F 8am-5pm CT, to further discuss your experience.

I have had to repaint several walls. No matter how slow you pull it, it still takes the paint off. So frustrating!!

Pulled paint and paper off sheetrock.

I installed this tape 20 days after the room was painted so the painter could start on the trim. It was on overnight. The painter showed up in the morning and mentioned that he did not need painters tape since he had a steady hand. As I began to remove it, the tape pulled paint and paper off. No rhyme or reason. Some spots the tape came off great no residue or paint removed. Needless to say I have multiple spots that have to be spakled and painted. Very disappointed.

This tape was used to mask off the cieling and along the cupboards. Put on one night painted pulled, or tried to pull it off, the next morning. With the tape came the cieling paint and the finish from our cupboards. So now I can paint my ceiling. Can't just touch up the bad spots as they stand out like crazy. I don't know what to do about the cupboards.... If you don't want extra work and cost to your painting project don't use this tape!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] we painted our entire house. we taped all the woodwork before painting. we let it dry before removing the tape. it stuck to the wood work and peeled the paint off in several areas. we tried the light purple tape and that doesnt stick at all. the blue just completely stuck to every surface. we literally had to use a utility knife and cut between wall and wood work before peeling the tape up, making extra work. i am still going around the house 2 months later finding little pieces of blue tape still stuck in small areas. glad my project is done but what a waste of money.
