The labels were actually brighter than the Avery product I had purchased earlier and at a lot better deal.

These labels are pretty good and comparable to Avery in quality. They do however not line up as perfectly with the Avery templates in Microsoft Word. They are very very close but just a smidgent off so if you intend on printing stuff right to the edges make sure you print a test on a piece of paper and the overlay it to the labels and hold up to the light to check for alignment or you could waste some labels. It's an easy problem to fix by adjusting the margins in your software but just something to be aware of.
