will be using these for holding material to a steel beam above the bed. hope they are stout enough to hold.

I do a lot of volunteer work and find these useful for any number of applications not just for holding papers. For example - combined with pushpins I used the clips to run an extension cord along a wall & up off the floor where students might trip over it.
