"Too much whiz and not enough tape"

What I really wanted was the tape you can tear without scissors. I know another brand makes this type of tape and I was hoping I could find a like tape in the 'Staples' brand. Not able to find it so far so bought this until I can hoping it will work as well. Used to support boxes for use on shelves in garage and in my house.

I wish I could zero stars. This tape sticks better to my fingers than to a box…What we have discovered is that you have to stick the tape to itself to get it to hold. So you have to wrap the tape around the box wasting so much tape. Will no buy again.

The tape worked okay but it didn't always stay stuck to the edges of the box. I had to go back and restick sections of tape to the box but the 3M tape I also had never had this issue on the same type of boxes. That said it held strong when stuck and my move was uneventful (no boxes fell open or anything)
