The tape roll is too large to fit in the standard Staples tape dispenser. Also sometimes the tape doesn't stick very well. Overall a good product and a lot cheaper than it's 3M rival but not ideal.

Staples Brand Packing Tape

Compared to Scotch brand packing tape this is a high 10 and the thick stiff Scotch brand is a low 3. Taping shut cartons requires tape that unrolls easily and tape that will flow into valleys and around corners without bulging. The tape needs to be form fitting and strong enough that the carton needs to be secured only once around. When using Scotch I often taped twice because it was so unwieldy I thought it would lift off. The alternative source U-Line has good tape as well but the advantage is only in big volumes. Staples for under 20-30 rolls is the best deal or so close to it that there's no reason to chase pennies when they offer just what i need for every package sealing need for moving and package shipping.

I love this tape. So tired of paying a fortune for Scotch brand. I used my ink rebates and a coupon to make the deal even sweeter. I had to buy a lot to get a great price but it was worth it. We use a lot anyway.

Staples brand very comparable to Duck

I am a business owner and we ship small packages to very large packages. I usually have been using Duck EZ start because I found it less expensive to Scotch. I was hesitant to try Staples Heavy-Duty Storage as i had tried the standard Staples Packaging tape and was not satisfied (that is for my shipping needs here but for home use it would be sufficient). I have only been using it for a week so far and I am very pleased the price is better I got more per roll and the quality strength is right there to! I will say it is not as quiet as the Duck EZ Start but in shipping does noise really matter. Also this size roll barely fits on the tape dispenser but once on it is fine. Thank You Staples
