The screen protector does not adhere around the edges due to the curve in the new SE's screen. I've spoken with other people who just got their new phones and they are having the same issue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Better process

While the installation is straight forward getting the protective plastic off the adhesive side of the Protector is difficult as the other plastic piece on the opposite side tends to come off due to the pressure you have to apply to the adhesive side plastic. A better process would help mitigate this issue. Otherwise the product appears to work well.
