Thank you for sharing your hood vent experience with us, behney. Your wall mounted vent hood has our highest capacity to move air at 400 Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM). CFM is a standard measurement found in many forms of ventilation, both in vehicle and in home heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. With your hood having the highest capacity available today, in our canopy wall mounted hoods, this movement of air would produce sound. Your hood is stated to operate on high at 69.9 decibels, which compares from between a conversation at 3 feet away, to a vacuum cleaner running or a television on loud. Is the sound you are hearing more of a vibration? If so, this may be related to installation, and would necessitate contacting your installer. If your hood was installed with many bends in the ductwork, this would also impact the efficiency of the air flow. Not reliable

I renovated the complete Kitchen including this new hood fan FHWC3055S.
At first the noise was a concern but for that number of CFM I'm ok to accept this inconvenience. My biggest problem is on a diner with gests the hood fan stopped working after the third time usage. That was really embarrassing.
Now because of this experience, we are not sure if we lean on the warranty or just buy another brand the fact if the warranty replace the broken part with the same problem parts.

We just moved into a new townhouse with this unit. All the kitchen appliances were already installed. They are all frigidaire and we are very pleased with all...except the range hood. It looks great but is practically unusable because of the noise level. It also stopped working the second time we used it and now we need it repaired. I'm hoping we can just replace it with a quieter hood.

Looks great, but extremely loud

While the hood performs well, the noise is extremely loud. Even on low, the hood is so loud that you can't hear anything else around you. For that reason, I tend to only use the hood when absolutely necessary. Disappointed, especially considering Frigidaire is normally such a great brand.

Great Look, Terrible Sound

I like to look of the hood and the light is really bright, which is nice. However it is way too loud - you can't hear anything else when it is on.

beautiful but shockingly loud

Love the way this hood looks, and the easy-to-clean finish, but this hood is so loud I cannot believe it actually was approved for sale to customers! we regret the purchase unfortunately. loudest hood I ever heard, we can't even use it.

Nice looks but with a major flaw

The hood looks very nice, controls are very easy and practical, lighting is good. The problem I had is that it is extremely loud even at the Lowe fan speed way above the specifications (several sones above). I know hoods are loud and I used many loud ones before, but this one you have to shout in the ear for someone else to hear you and that's in the living room next to the kitchen (you cannot stay in the kitchen without ear plugs or some sort of noise reducing headphones). I suspect i have a defective unit and will be contacting the manufacturer. I hope this is not how it's supposed to sound!
