Indoor smokeless grill light?

I just bought this product and confused why the light keeps going on and off. It goes off while I’m trying to cook then flashes back on when I wiggle it. Then I left it alone and it turns off and on intermittently. Not sure if this is normal????

Perfect for indoor and outdoor cooking. It requires a little of patience but the results are satisfactory.
