For many years I've preferred to manually shovel even the deepest and harshest snowfalls each winter -essentially considering them a "replacement" visit to the gym; basically a routine workout. That said, my True Temper shovel that has been the 'go to' staple since the early 90's was starting to show its age. Enter the Snow Joe Shovelution. Golly, what a difference in the amount of effort it takes to clear a driveway. It allows me to take a higher stance, meaning, I still get a great workout, but it is mostly with the arms and shoulders as the serious lower-back strain is mostly alleviated. So, while my physicality has seriously decreased with age the task at hand has thankfully gotten a little easier with this technologically advanced and well thought out tool. Time will tell if the Snow Joe has the longevity of my faithful old friend, but man is it off to a great start! Thanks Snow Joe...
I really do not like to shovel snow, but now that i own the Snow Joe it is so much better on my back No more strain on my back and it is kinda fun to throw the snow when i use this shovel it is by far the best ! I have bought a shovel once a year only to break and I had to throw away from it breaking not any more I have my shovel three years and it is as good as new so i got another one for my back door ! I can say for sure you cant go wrong if you get this shovel it is a great shovel !
I used this shovel for the first time over the weekend and was very happy!! It was used three times to keep up with the snow and I got the hang of how it works quickly. Thank goodness for this design to tackle a Minnesota winter!!
Needed an extra shovel for the boys to clear the driveway and they really like this one. It also saves back as well. I might get another before the year is out.
We haven't gotten snow yet, of which I am glad. I think the shovel is well made and I am hoping it will make snow removal easy on my back when I do have to use it.
It works great. The best technique I've found is to push it with one arm underhanded from the main grip to gather the snow, then grab the spring loaded handle with the other hand to throw the snow. It is definitely a back-saver.
