I recently had the opportunity to use this snow shovel. It was delivered within 1 week & came boxed in two pieces which was easy to assemble.
Due to rheumatoid arthritis, it is necessary for me to protect my joints & back (I also wear an elasticized back-brace) when doing manual chores, so I’m always on the hunt for better tools and methods. My usual go-to snow shovel has an ergonomically-designed bent handle which works much better than the usual straight-handled snow shovels. HOWEVER, I was happy to discover, plus very impressed, as well as surprised, that Snow Joe’s back-saving snow shovel works far superior to my ergonomic-handled shovel. Using Snow Joe’s lift-handle takes a bit of getting used to, but it definitely reduces back & arm strain considerably. The design is especially beneficial for women because the lift-handle reduces the snow’s weight when lifting a load. After 3-hours of constant shovelling, my joints and back felt fine.
The only time I can’t use Snow Joe’s back-saving shovel is when clearing snow from the sundeck. Because I have to throw the snow over the deck railing & the handle just gets in the way, making the task impossible. Other than that, Snow Joe’s back-saving snow shovel is a great invention, worth every penny, and I highly recommend it to others!
