You should not use a 16-gauge power cord with an 1800W appliance, as it creates a significant fire hazard. A 16 gauge wire can handle about 10 to 13 amps, which translates to approximately 1,300 to 1,625 watts on a 120-volt circuit. A 16-gauge cord is not rated for the amperage an 1800W appliance draws and can overheat or melt. How did this device receive UL certification?
Great product for the price especially. Will for my family's needs for many years I hope. Seems to be a good quality and has plenty of space. Need to try the dehydration function real soon.
